Obituary of Bonnie Warren
Please share a memory of Bonnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Florence "Bonnie" Warren, a beloved member of the Bainbridge community, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at the age of 84. Bonnie was born on August 25, 1939, in Johnson City, NY, to Leon L. and Lillian M. Smith. She was the youngest of seven children, growing up in a close-knit family where love and care were abundant.
Bonnie married Lyle E. Warren, and together they built a beautiful life in Bainbridge, NY, where they raised their three children: Kimberley, Eric, and Gregory. Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and GramB; her family was the center of her world. She was a talented cook, often bringing her family together over delicious meals, and her home was always filled with warmth and laughter.
Bonnie had a very special bond with her late mother-in-law, Olive Warren. She helped care for her and visited her regularly. Olive always told people when referencing Bonnie, "She's part of me."
An avid animal lover, Bonnie cared deeply for her pets, including her most recent companions, Barney and Mew-Mew. She also cherished visits from her "pet kids," M&M and Elmer. Her love for animals extended beyond her own pets, as she enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, chipmunks, and squirrels from her front porch. Bonnie had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Bonnie had a special connection with children, and her nurturing spirit was evident in the care she provided for them in her home and through her work at church. She was a dedicated member of the Bainbridge First United Methodist Church, where she formed lasting friendships and found great comfort in her faith. Bonnie loved singing hymns, both at church and at home, where music brought her peace.
A loyal fan of the New York Yankees and Syracuse Men's Basketball teams, Bonnie rarely missed a game on television. She also enjoyed leisurely drives and stopping at antique shops, finding joy in discovering hidden treasures.
Bonnie's pride in her children was unmatched, and she spoke with Kim and Greg twice a day. She adored her grandchildren, Kyle and Justine, precious great-granddaughter, Ella, and cherished her "bonus daughter," Nee-Nee, and her family, whom she considered her own. Bonnie maintained close relationships with her extended family, regularly keeping in touch with her nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Lyle, her son Eric, her parents, her sister Beverly and husband Chet, her brothers Junior (Sally), Billy, Donald, Bobby, and Dick, her nephew Bill David, and in-laws Olive Warren and Dutch and Pauline Warren.
She is survived by her son Greg Warren, daughter Kimberley Fragetta, son-in-law Ronald Fragetta, grandchildren Kyle Fragetta (Alayna Davison), Justine Fragetta (Luke Belfield), great-granddaughter Ella Fragetta, and very special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by lifelong friends who she considered family and her church family, including her guardian angel, Jennifer Lambrecht. Special thanks to the Hamstra, Palmer, and Shields families for all of their visits and help.
Bonnie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
