Obituary of Robin W. Perry
Please share a memory of Robin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robin William Perry, 68, of Guilford, NY lost his long and courageous battle with cancer. He was home, surrounded by all of his loved ones, as he took his last breath on July 23rd, 2024.
Robin is survived by his beautiful wife, Bonnie Perry; children: Casey (Jason) Baker of Bainbridge, N.Y., Tina (Dean) Fairchild of Unadilla, N.Y., and Melissa (Rob) Davis of Mount Upton, N.Y.; his grandchildren: Amber (Kody) Westcott, Austin Bauerle, Hayley and Nevan Baker, Abigail, Alexis, and Maverick Davis, and Brooke Fairchild; his great-grandchildren Kilynn and Kamdyn Westcott; sisters: Jenneen Bush (David) and Jill Pinney (Ed Brice); and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Lois and Thomas Perry; brothers, Thomas and Timothy Perry; his in-laws, Harlan & Shirley Stringer, as well as his lifelong friends, Don Dibble, Ronnie Brown, and Mark Cutting.
His truest love was of course, his "beautiful wife", he'd be sure to correct you if you called her anything else. Talk about a true love story. Bonnie and Robin met when they were just 15 as Robin was attending Bainbridge-Guilford School. They were married on October 14, 1972 and he soon enlisted in the US Army where he served his country from 1973-1976. Robin was a machinist for Amphenol Aerospace for almost 40 years before he retired in 2017.
They resided in Guilford, NY, where they've proudly raised their 3 daughters, 3 sons, (in-law) 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. But it doesn't stop there because their circle is way beyond blood. They are 'Mom and Dad', and 'Nonnie and Papa' to so many more.
When he wasn't in the woods, on the water, golf course, or the softball field, you'd probably find him on sidelines of any one of his kid's or grandkid's games. He was our biggest cheerleader and supporter.
His respect and passion for nature and the outdoors was deep. From hunting, to trapping, to fishing, every single person that he came into contact with, has learned something from him. And boy oh boy did he have a story to tell ya. Brad Cheney, his lifetime army brother, has been making the trip from Findley, OH every year for 32 years to turkey hunt with Robin and usually bagged a good one. And if you want to hear a good fishing story, just ask Charlie Gifford, the two of them sure could reel in some big ones, some nice fish too.
Robin had a deep loyalty to his country. He was an Army Veteran and a proud American. He despises disrespect of either.
This was his life and we are all truly better people because we were blessed to be a part of his beautiful journey.
We will be hosting a Celebration of Life on August 17th, 11:00am-2:00pm, at the Bainbridge Sportsmen's Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Disabled American Veteran's Association through the Tribute Link.
