SFC Larry William Plows, 45, of Sidney, NY, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2024 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Colchester. Larry was born on January 16, 1979 in Oneonta, NY to Avis Dalton and Charles Plows, Jr. Larry enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country for 17.5 years. He received numerous commendations, including: the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, three Army Achievement Medals, NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Combat Action Badge. Larry worked as a DEC Park Supervisor at Bear Spring Mountain Campground. He loved riding his motorcycle and being outdoors gardening, fishing and hiking. He also liked to cook and barbeque. Larry will be missed by his fiancé, Angie; three daughters, Kailey, Bianca and Alivia; mother and stepfather, Avis Dalton and Doug Titus; sisters, Sherry, Rebecca and Sharlyn; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Charles Plows, Jr. A military memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Sidney Veterans Memorial Park, 118 River Street, Sidney, NY 13838. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at 7 Oak Ave. Sidney, NY 13838.
