Sidney, NY: Doris Gorton Cook passed away peacefully Monday, May 13, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born September 28, 1932, to the late George and Sarah Gorton. Doris was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and SUNY Delhi.

She is survived by her four children, Candace Roberts (Thomas) of Jamestown, N.C., David Cook (Robyn) of Freehold, N.J., Donald Cook (Tammer) of Irmo, S.C. and Clifford Cook (Amy) of North Chili, N.Y. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Loretta Gorton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Gorton and Lynn Gorton and her grandson, Douglas Roberts.

A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 1:30PM at the Sidney United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sidney United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Delaware Valley Humane Society.

Her wish was to be cremated and interred within her parents' grave at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
