Obituary of Ricardo A. Brundege

Please share a memory of Ricardo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ricardo Alan Brundege (Rick/Ricky Bobby), of Afton, NY, passed away on May 25, 2024 at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with serious medical issues in recent years. He showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Rick came out a hero and stayed strong to the end. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Rick. He had an uncanny ability to find happiness in helping all of his kids in any way he could. He was a very hard worker, and very well respected by everyone in his community. Rick worked many years as a custodian at the Afton Central School, and was a do-it-all contractor for as long as he could be. His personality was contagious to everyone he met. He always enjoyed a nice cold beer with his friends and his right-hand man, Jake and wife Tammi Griswold. Rick was known for his sense of humor and will be remembered for one liners such as "If she ain't 280, she ain't a lady." Rick is survived by his ex-wife, Lisa Macumber; sons, Jessie and Derrick Brundege; step-son Derek Macumber; daughters, Tia and Breanna Brundege; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Valerie Brundege; granddaughters, Kiersten, Brooke, Baylee and Dixie; grandson, Luka and step-mom, Sandra Jones. All flowers and donations should be sent to the Afton River Club, 1 Maple St. Afton, NY 13730, where a celebration of life will be held on June 9th at 2:00pm. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
