Julie Linda Moore of Bainbridge, NY passed away Monday February 5, 2024. She was born January 3, 1940 in Oak Park Illinois to the late Jeanne (Cedarquist) and William DeLap Steele and was raised by her maternal grandparents Berger "Bert" and Ruth Cedarquist. She graduated Verona HS, Verona, NJ in 1958 and attended University of Miami, Florida.
Julie was predeceased by her husband Douglas W. Moore Sr. They married in 1971 and were together for 50 years until his death in 2021. They worked their dairy farm Rolling Meadows for 34 years. A simple pleasure was watching General Hospital together and meeting old farmers for Sunday breakfast.
Julie loved animals, particularly horses and helped to establish the Tri-Valley Horseman's Association. She was a member of American Horse Shows Assoc of USEF and announced shows at the Afton and Norwich Fairs for many years. Julie created the logo for CATRA Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association in Grantville, PA for her longtime friend Shirley Nolt where she visited once a year.
Julie loved to sing, was a member of the Downtown Singers of Binghamton and performed in many musicals with the Tri-Town Theater and other local groups. She had a love of classic cars, was a member of the Antique Auto Assoc and enjoyed participating in car shows.
Julie was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and leaves with regret her son Glenn Samer, his wife Susan, grandchildren Christopher and Kristin. Stepchildren Douglas Moore Jr. his wife Joann, grandchild Michelle. Diane Hayner, her husband Skip, grandchildren Richard Hayner and Stacey Archer and great grandchildren Haylee and Mason. Dale Moore, grandchildren Dawn Ocampo and Teresa Moore, Dawn and Robert Clark, grandchild Tonya Elmers. Daphne DeLoatch, grandchildren Theron, Hanna and Kayla. Darryl his wife Dianna Moore, grandchildren Melinda and Cody.
Gratitude to Bruce "Buck" Goodrich for checking in on Julie and Peggy, her Black Lab and for taking care of the farm. Special thanks to her stepdaughter Dawn and Robert Clark who were there for Julie after the death of Douglas and during her illness. They provided many hours of comfort and care to her.
