Obituary of Mark W. Cutting

Mark W. Cutting, 69, of Sidney, N.Y., peacefully passed away in his home on the morning of March 8, 2024. Mark was born in Sidney, N.Y. on December 13, 1954, the son of Loren and Diane (Foulds) Cutting. After graduating from Bainbridge-Guilford High School in 1974, Mark went to work at Hansmann's Mills and Borden Inc. in Bainbridge, N.Y. before settling at Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney, N.Y. in 1979 and became a member of the IAM & AW. Mark retired in 2017, dedicating 38 years to Amphenol. On July 1, 1998, Mark married Valerie J. (Mattice) Cutting. Together they enjoyed many years of golfing, traveling, cruises, and many memorable summers spent camping at Kellystone Park with family and friends. In previous years, Mark played on various softball, bowling, and golf leagues. He had also been a loyal member of the Sidney Elks Lodge No. 2175 since 1995. Mark is survived by his children Kelly (Shawn) Kelly of Oxford, N.Y., Casey Cutting (Rich Fife) of Sidney, N.Y., Matthew (Nicole) Cutting of Port Orange, F.L.; his stepsons, Michael Field of Oneonta, N.Y., and Christopher (Margot) Field of Holly Springs, N.C.; his grandchildren Joshua, Caleb, Ethan, Alexander, Arianna, Aidan, Abigail, Kage, Keegan, Kamden, Stella, Wyatt (Cutting), Lacey, Brooklyn and Wyatt (Field); his great-grandchildren Emelia, Theodore, Atalie and Callan. Mark is also survived by his mother, Diane Cutting of Afton, N.Y.; his brother Scott Cutting of Afton, N.Y.; his sisters, Karen (Herb) Lowe of Sidney, N.Y., Gail Ostrander of Sidney, N.Y., Lora (Ronald) Eggleston of Bainbridge, N.Y., Shirley Farnsworth of Oneonta, N.Y., Sherry (Robert) Hunt of Oneonta, N.Y., Bonnie (Michael) Derrick of Sidney, N.Y. and Connie (Shaun) Ryan of Wilsall, M.T.; his sister-in-law Christine Cutting of Bainbridge, N.Y., as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mark was predeceased by his wife, Valerie J. Cutting; his father, Loren Cutting; his brothers Alan, Gary and Paul Cutting; his brothers-in-law Ray Farnsworth and Ed Ostrander. His family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Mark's very special friends, Kirk and Toni Gardner, for being there for him and his daughters unconditionally. They would also like to thank his extended family at the Sidney Elks Lodge. He held everyone there in very high regard, had the most sincere respect and loved each of you so very much. On Thursday, March 21, 2024, family and friends are invited to a burial service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge at 11:00 a.m., as well as a Celebration of Life being held at the Sidney Elks Lodge from 1:00-3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mark's name can be made to the Sidney Elks Lodge No. 2175, 104 River Street, Sidney, N.Y. 13838.
