David Heannings, 62, passed away after an illness of dementia on January 31, 2024.

David was born on October 21, 1961 in Delhi, NY to Phyllis and Wallace Heannings.

David worked various jobs from Ecklands, Walton Farm Supply, River Valley Ford and Unatego School where he was a bus mechanic and bus driver for 20 years.

He enjoyed bowling, 4-wheeling, camping, NASCAR, salmon fishing, gardening, and tinkering in his garage with auto repairs. He most enjoyed bonfires and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn (Bartlett) Heannings; children: Scott Heannings, Theresa (Rich) Borggreen and Wesley (Jen) Heannings; grandchildren: Vikki, Michael, Evan, Scott and Aurelia; mother, Phyllis; siblings: Sandra, Andrew, Kevin, Brenda, Roxanne and Jay; as well as many nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by his dad, Wallace.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on February 24, 2024 at the Sidney Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in David's memory may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
