Obituary of Bonnie L. Shields

Bonnie Lynn Shields-Haltizer went to her final Rest with Our Lord on January 1st 2024. Bonnie was lovingly known by many names including Siss, Sissy, BonBon, Ma and CrabApple. Bonnie was born on March 22, 1966 in Derby, Connecticut, the daughter of Helen Cable and LeRoy Haltizer. She was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as her stepparents Robert Cable and Pat Haltizer. Bonnie was also Predeceased by two children Michael James Matthews and Jessica Mae Matthews. Bonnie is survived by her son, Toby Shields, daughter, Kirsten Lanfair, Long time Life Partner, Steven Ball, Brothers Doug and Scott Haltizer, Harold, Mark, Robert and Randy Cable, and sisters, Denise Goodspeed, Robin Bristol, Kelly Martnick and Leann Haltizer, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a graduate of Seymour High School in Seymour, Connecticut, and then earned a degree in management at Hamburger University of McDonald's. She went on to Manage for McDonald's for many years. Being a loving and caring person, she also worked home health care and at a group home for the mentally disabled. Bonnie loved spending her time with family and friends and was an avid outdoors person who loved to hike and fish as well as spending quiet time at home crocheting. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children which was a charity dear to Bonnie's heart. The Family will hold private services at a later date yet to be determined and would like to thank all who have been there for Bonnie with their thoughts and prayers and a very special thanks to Steven Ball who has been there though all the ups and down. Steve, you were her one true love and words can never express the family's gratitude to you.
