Obituary of Judy Edna Ogden

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judy Edna Ogden (Satterlee), age 76, of Bainbridge, NY was welcomed into Heaven on December 22, 2023. Her final days were peacefully shared with her family. Born the second child of five to Charles and Edna Satterlee (Dewey), on November 9, 1947, Judy spent most of her childhood growing up in Mt. Upton, NY. As a child she loved being outside and loved visiting the "Dewey Farm". Her creativity and love for drawing earned her a degree in Advertising Design and Technology. Unknowing at the time, her working semester of college led into her 46-year career at Bendix, later Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney, NY where she gave her heart as a graphics designer of their catalogs and publications. She enjoyed drawing and had a free-lance design and drawing business for a few years in the 1980s. She found joy in expressing her creativity through handmade cards and designing craft projects for the youth programs within her church after her retirement. Judy loved to travel; vacations in Florida, Hawaii, and the Grand Canyon as some of the highlights. She enjoyed visiting her sisters and brothers, just getting out of town for a few days, and the yearly family camping trips. A longtime member of the Bainbridge Women's Recreation Club, she held dear the friendships she made over the years. She loved being around children as it filled the void of always longing to have more than just one. Her grandson was her world, often referring to him as "my Michael". Judy found purpose, joy and comfort in the church and was devoted to serving the Lord. As member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Upton and the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church, she was a lay speaker, pianist, created and published the bulletins, sat on the Pastor Parish committee, and was an active participant in planning activities for Vacation Bible School, just to name some her involvements. She lived the word of the Lord and found solace in knowing she would walk along-side Jesus someday. Judy is survived by her loyal and committed husband of 46 years, Thomas Ogden of Bainbridge NY; cherished only child, Jennifer Bourassa (Justin); adored only grandchild, Michael Currier; beloved siblings, Sally Harrington (Earl); Richard Satterlee (Donna); David Satterlee (Pam); and Deborah Edwards (Thomas); Brother-in-law Raymond Ogden (Ruth); loved cousins; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Preceded in death by her much-loved mother, Edna Satterlee; dearest father, Charles Satterlee; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephew. Visitation will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Sidney on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 5p.m-7p.m. Funeral service will be held at Mt. Upton United Methodist Church 1741 NY-8, Mt. Upton on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11a.m, followed by burial service at Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Judy to the Mercy House, 212 N. McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY 13760. Enough words cannot be said for this peaceful facility and all the gracious staff and volunteers who compassionately and gently provide comfort for the terminally ill, as well as their families, during a time of such tremendous pain and uneasiness. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
