I had intended to stop by the family farm where I thought Mike had been living, to thank him for the kind words he wrote in my dad's (Gary Lackos Sr.) tribute book, but I never got the chance. My dad had always thought very highly of Mike and the rest of the family. I am happy that my dad had such good neighbors like Mike nearby. Gary Lackos Jr.

I will never for the day I had to follow him up north .on 88 n holy moly he was doing 90 in a xxxx and me following doing 80 in a bus. He laughed all the way . Rest in peace my friend,boss.

Dear Chris, Mike, Beth, Eric and family members: We were very sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Between the both of you Noel was always transported safely to and from school in his early days. Mike was always concerned about making sure Noel caught the bus to and from school as he became Transportation Supervisor for SCSD. Chris was instrumental in him loving the ride since she had the very best music for the kids. Mike will be missed in our lives and we hope your memories of him serve to console your deep loss~

We are so sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was always a decent, caring, man. He coached my son in baseball where I saw firsthand how he taught his values of honesty and fair play as much as he taught the game. I remember one time when the boys were all down on themselves after a devastating loss. He grouped everyone together and said, “let me ask you one question, did you do your best?” The boys all answered “yes”, and Mike answered, “Then that’s all anyone can ask of you.” Another time when we were beating the other team by several runs, Mike asked the boys to slow down on the bases and not score so much, reminding the team how they felt when they got beaten badly. The world could use more people like Mike and Chris Blincoe. Our loss is definitely Heaven’s gain. May the Lord’s peace be with you all in this most difficult of times. So very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mike was a great guy I enjoyed working with him and Chris in the early 80s when I drove bus in Sidney. I also had the pleasure of working with him when he was transportation supervisor and I was building and grounds supervisor until his retirement. May God help you through this difficult time.
