Evelyn E. Hard, 94, of Masonville, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Nursing Home in Norwich. Evelyn was born on July 27, 1916, daughter of the late George and Hazel (Knickerbock) Bush in Tompkins, NY. In February of 1933, Evelyn married Kenneth G. Hard in Susquehanna, PA. He predeceased her on August 22, 1990. Evelyn retired from the Masonville Diner in 1980.
Evelyn is survived by:
2 Sons: Jack K. Hard of Masonville; Robert K. Hard and his wife, Kathy of Palm Bay, FL
2 Daughters: Joyce Butts of Unadilla; Sharon Signor and her husband, Lee of Myrtle Beach, SC
12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren
4 Sisters-in-law: Inez McCumber, Shirley Davidson and husband, Reed, Phyllis McMullen and husband, Wayne, and Luella Hard.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was predeceased by 2 brothers, Raymond "Jack" Bush and Edward Bush.
At Evelyn's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street Norwich, NY 13815. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.landersfh.com.
Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney.
