Obituary of Cameron K. Chabot
Please share a memory of Cameron to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With sadness, love and gratitude, the family of Cameron Kristopher Chabot announces his passing on November 14, 2023, in Unadilla, NY.
Cameron was born to Kristopher Chabot and Kari (Northrop) Constable on June 23, 2002 in Cooperstown, NY.
Cameron graduated a proud Sidney Warrior from Sidney Central School and later from Northwest Lineman School in Edgewater Florida.
Cameron was always a big kid with an even bigger heart and was the most polite young man to all he encountered. Many people have commented on the manners that Cameron had, and that no matter where he ran into someone, he'd always stop to say hello and ask how they were. His smile was even bigger than he was and his laugh contagious. He charmed teachers and coaches and always got into trouble for being too chatty. He was one of the kids that moving his seat probably didn't matter, he'd talk to his newest seat mate too. He loved all sports, playing basketball and baseball through his school years, but his true love was football. He had an uncanny understanding of the game and was utilized in so many different positions. Cameron was genuinely thankful for the brotherhood his football team provided. He did make his family crazy by changing his jersey number just about every year. When people talk about their glory days, there's no doubt his was on the gridiron. He raced quads for over a decade with his Dad until an injury at Broome Tioga ended his racing days. That day he stated 'Sorry Mom, just tried to send it.' He healed quickly but knew he didn't want to risk missing senior year touchdowns and tackles so his quad riding was just in his Grandma's field after that.
He enjoyed hunting at his grandparents cabin in Pharsalia for many years, last year getting to do a hunt with four generations of his family. Not many can say that they got to hunt with their Great Grandfather like Cameron was lucky enough to do. At the family camp, everyone would ride side-by-sides, sit around bonfires and get rained on if you decided to rough it in a tent. Cameron always seemed to find a downhill spot and would wake up soaked. Always positive, it never dampened his good time at camp. More recently he had taken up fishing. He bought tons of supplies, rods, lures, etc., but we never actually saw a fish he'd caught. He still seemed to enjoy it, even if he didn't appear to be too successful.
Additionally while attending Sidney, Cameron connected with a group of friends that have a bond unmatched to any other. Whether it was sports, playing video games, hanging on the back porch, or just antagonizing his sister- these boys loved each other and just always found a way to have simple fun. He did provide his sister with a handful of big brothers that will no doubt look after her with his passing.
Cameron is survived by his mother, Kari Constable (Matthew Rudnitsky); his Father, Kristopher Chabot (Allison); his beloved sister, Emma Rose Constable; grandparents: Ron and Sue Northrop, Bill and Joan Northrop, Pauline Chabot, Mary Constable and Daniela Chabot. Cameron was close with his Uncles Billy (Brittany) Northrop and Devon Chabot. His three littlest cousins, Hayden, Sadie and Nellie always climbed up him like a tree for a hug when they would see him. He is survived by so many more aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Cameron was surely met with a big bear hug from stepfather Michael Constable, who predeceased him. Cameron and Mike had a special relationship as Mike coached many of Cameron's little league baseball teams. We're sure they are playing catch right now.
Cameron was also predeceased by grandfathers James Chabot, David Chabot and Bob Constable.
