Virginia Blakesley, 75, of Sidney passed away early Wednesday morning, November 17, 2010 at Susquehanna Nursing Facility in Johnson City. She was born on April 26, 1935, daughter of the late Harold and Myra King in Sidney. She was married to Robert Blakesley, Sr., who predeceased her in 2002. Virginia was a former employee at Keith Clark Co. She was a member of Circle Drive Alliance Church in Sidney, the Sidney Historical Society and volunteered at Nex-T-New.
She is survived by:
Daughters, Melody and Randy Wilson of Mt. Upton and Maureen Reithoffer of Gilbertsville
4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
In addition to her husband, Virginia was predeceased by her sons, Robert Blakesley, Jr. and Jimmie Lee Putnam.
Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 from 11am-1pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Bob Goldenberg, pastor of Circle Drive Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. Memorial contributions in Virginia's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
