Julie Lynn Scott (December 1, 1975 – September 28, 2023)
Julie Lynn Scott, 47, of Coral Springs, Florida and originally from Afton, New York, left this earth on September 28, 2023.
Julie was a 1993 graduate of Afton High School and attended Pittsburgh Technical College of Travel and Tourism. As a devoted mother who lived to love and guide her daughters, Julie embodied the spirit of "work hard, play hard." She was dedicated to her career in hospitality, moving through the ranks to become area director of sales of South Florida for the Hilton and Marriott hotel brands. She balanced her passion for her career with several hobbies, including traveling, golfing, and attending music festivals. A beautiful soul inside and out, Julie's fun-loving spirit and smile could light up any room. Anyone close to her would tell you Julie was the life of the party, who "thought" she could sing and dance. She leaves a legacy for her girls and the rest of us that life is about cherishing those close to you, creating the life you want, and making time for fun.
Julie is survived by her daughters Hailee and Brianna Coughlin, their father, Tim Coughlin Jr., and her beloved dog, Bella. She is also survived by her parents James and Rhonda Scott, Jean and David "Otto" Riley; sisters Wendy (Mike) Stulir and Brenda (pre-deceased Wade) Decker; niece Connor (Chase) Pepper; nephew Caleb (Nicole) Stulir; step-siblings, Mike Riley, Laura Volk, Tim Riley, and Jamie Craig; her special aunt Kate Henry and uncle Rodney Bolster; cousin "brothers" Rich Henry and Lance Henry; special friends, Michael McDonald, David Jenner, Jim and Anne Valez, Dana and Todd Brewer, and Ziad El Chantiry; and many close friends and family in Florida and New York.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. in Sidney. A celebration of Julie's life will be held following the funeral and burial at Belden Hill Golf Club. Memorial donations may be directed to a GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/2549e138) for funeral expenses and to support Julie's daughters.
To keep Julie's spirit alive, hug someone you love, dance like no one is watching, and live life to the fullest.
