Adelbert "Del" Emerson 71, of Unadilla passed away with his wife and children at his side, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born on November 11, 1951, son of the late Charles and Jane (Wickes) Emerson in Sidney.
Del served his country honorably as an MP in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973. He married Michele Cumm on August 27, 1983, who survives.
Del worked for many years alongside his father at a car dealership and car parts store. He also worked at Scoville Meno and Carquest in Unadilla.
Del enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He spent a great deal of time rebuilding carburetors for people after retiring.
He loved cars, especially his beloved 1965 Buick Special and his 1984 Dodge pickup.
Del also enjoyed art, photography and design.
He was a fan of the New York Giants and played pool in the Long River Inn pool league for many years.
Del left a great music collection and was a respected local DJ, "Doctor".
He is survived by his wife, Michele

Several nieces and nephews and dear friends, Joe and Ruth Knapp
Del was also predeceased by Sister, Debbie Wilson, brother, Danny Emerson, brother-in-law, Mike Wilson and Father-in-law, Richard Cumm
Friends and family are invited to gather together in memory of Del on October 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Unadilla Rod and Gun Club 573 Butternut Road Unadilla, NY
