Raymond "Butch" A. Schmitz, 77, passed away at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing

Center on August 12, 2023.

Ray was born on April 19, 1946 to Josephine and Arthur Schmitz.

Ray was predeceased by his wife, Viola.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law,

Julie and Charles Olcott, his 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Jadyn, and Mariah Olcott, and his

dog Banjo.

Ray spent the earlier part of his life on his dairy farm in Bainbridge. After the farm was

sold, he worked as a custodian in the Bainbridge-Guilford and Chenango Forks School

Districts. He spent much of his free time at the local auctions, sitting outside with his

dogs, and socializing at the local diners with his friends.

Calling hours will be held Friday, August 18 from 4-6 pm at CH Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. in Sidney, NY.

Burial will be private in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge.
