Pauline was a niece to my mother, Encie. Being just ten years apart in age, they were were very close; more like sisters. If I remember correctly, they were in each other's weddings as young women. They remained close throughout their lives, traveling with their families between Montana and New York to see each other. Pauline and Phil's home was always a very warm and welcoming place to us. In their early years they began a legacy of loving God and loving each other that continues today through their children, grandchildren, and their children. Pauline's life was a life well lived and she will be greatly missed by each of us. Judy and Brian Wrede (the MT branch of the family)

I had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Comings since I was a young boy. She taught children's church at First Baptist Church of Afton and I was one of her pupils. She was a wonderful communicator. She once held a dime over a group of students during class. We all sat there staring at it until one of the students reached up and took the dime. She told us "that is what salvation is like - you just have to reach up and receive it." I have never forgotten that. I admired her and her husband Phil so much as a kid. What a wonderful family to have in your church. When I think of Pauline, I think of strength. The last time I saw her she had just lost her cherished home in a fire. I was expecting her to be downcast about the event but she was thankful instead, thankful that no one was hurt. She told me that she had just lost "stuff", and stuff can be replaced. What a perspective. She was faithful to the end, and will be missed. Thanks for helping me grow, Mrs. Comings, you are someone I will never forget.

I had the privilege of knowing Pauline and Phil Comings, one reason, I also lived in Coventryville., 2 I started a small newspaper covering as many events as I could find and publishing it. Pauline and Phil invited me to attend the Wool Pool. I covered that in my paper. What an interesting event, and I got many pictures and learned many things about wool pooling. They also called me one day and asked if I would like to see a lamb being born. I said, "YES!" and headed over to the barn. There sat Pauline on a chair feeding a little new born lamb. What an interesting farm they had. Our family bought milk from them, "pasteurized" right off the farm. They were hard working people even in their latter years, and very interesting to be around. They were very kind folk. Both were great Christians, and as I said before, it was a real privilege to know them. I know they're happy now and out of any pain they may have been in. They are with their Lord. I look forward to seeing them again. Who knows, maybe soon.

My condolences to the families and friends of Pauline. I remember going to the Comings farm with my parents and buying a gallon of fresh milk. Back then it was 50 cents a gallon. Imagine that. My thoughts and comforting prayers to the families. So sorry for your loss.

She was a very nice lady. I can remember her teaching at Vacation Bible School, when I was a youngster. I remember working at Afton Central . Condolences to the Comings family.
