Obituary of Duane D. Hromada, Sr.

Duane D. Hromada, Sr. passed away on Friday, March 24 at his home in Bainbridge, NY with his family by his side. The Northern Lights appeared over Chenango County that night, which made a beautifully fitting final night, the spirit of the sky welcoming him home. Duane was born in Afton, NY to parents Michael and Florence Hromada. The family lived in Harpursville, then moved to Bainbridge. Duane was very proud of the 46 years he spent working at Amphenol in Sidney before he retired in 2014. He will always be remembered for his commitment to family. He taught us all the importance of loving and supporting each other through good times and bad. Duane is survived by his wife of 55 years, Deborah; His children Kimberly Hromada, Kelly Hromada-Johnson (Richard), Duane Hromada, Jr. (Jennifer) , his six grandchildren , Kyle Werth, Katerinan Palladino(Mikalliah), Tyler Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Jack Hromada and Alex Hromada. Five of his seven siblings survive him, Barbara Schermerhorn, Florence Dibble, William Hromada, Donald Hromada and Daniel Hromada. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 15th at 11:00 am at the Sidney United Methodist Church 12 Liberty St. in Sidney, NY Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge. Duane had requested that contributions in his memory be made to the Sidney Food Bank, 12 Liberty Street, Sidney, NY or Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33 – 39 Court Street, Norwich, NY.
