Obituary of Betty J. Hunt
Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The Lord called Betty home at the age of 89. Betty was born the eldest child of the late Everett and Hilda Shaver of Otego. She was wife to Robert Hunt for over 50 years, and mother to Charles Place (Sherry), Steven Place (Rebecca) and John Place (Cheryl).
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Donald Place; brother, Gerald; sister, Mary; and son, Steven. Betty is survived by husband Robert, sons Charles (Sherry) and John (Cheryl); daughter-in-law, Rebecca; brother, Larry Shaver, sister, Arlene Hoag; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to her health workers Cindy Brunson and Cheryl Liberty for the care and friendship they've provided.
Betty graduated from SUNY Delhi and later in life worked in the library at the Sidney School. She enjoyed watching movies, playing cards and games, doing puzzles and birdwatching.
Betty was a devout Christian and is now in a better place with her Savior. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.
