Obituary of Beverly Mae Rowe

Beverly M. Rowe, 87, a lifelong resident of Bainbridge, NY passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on March 14th, 2023. She was born September 10th, 1935 in Coventry, NY, daughter of the late Clair and Nellie (Stanton) Smith. On July 24th, 1955 Bev was married to Lawrence Rowe Sr. who predeceased her in 2014, after 59 years of marriage. Beverly worked at several area restaurants over the years but many remember her as the bartender of "Jerry's Inn" in Bainbridge where she worked for over 20 years. She later went on to work part time at the Bainbridge Great American. Bev loved decorating for the holidays, playing cards in local pitch leagues, watching her beloved NY Giants, sitting outside watching the birds and visiting with her family, friends, and neighbors. Bev is survived by her children Lawrence (Barbara) Rowe of Unadilla, Daniel Rowe (Cheryl Wood) of Bainbridge, Dennis Rowe (Misty Cooper) of Greene, and Alan (Michele) Rowe of Masonville; her brother, Fred (Deb) Smith; and sisters-in-law: Wendy Smith, Eunice Huyck, and Esther Rowe. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Millus; brothers: Harry, William, and Steve Smith, and great granddaughter Emelyn Harper Murphy. Bev's family would like to extend many thanks to her caregivers over the last six months including Andrea, Dara, Robin, Peg, and Tasha. A very special thank you to Sharon for her special care and loving bond to our mother. Graveside services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 13th in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Beverly's memory may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County.
