Obituary of Marcia Jean Honsaker

Marcia Jean Honsaker (Durfee) passed away December 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born June 15, 1949 in Johnson City, NY to Clyde and Esther Durfee. She was a graduate of Union Endicott High School, class of 1966, and SUNY Albany, class of 1970. She married David Honsaker in August of 1970. She was a longtime, active member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority and over the years served in multiple leadership roles. She was also active in the Friends of the Sidney Memorial Public Library, most recently have served as their treasurer. Marcia found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren making sure to attend athletic and academic competitions, concerts, and dance recitals. She was an enthusiastic scrapbooker and created treasured heirlooms for her grandchildren, friends, and family. She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Esther, and her brother Frederick. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David; her son Michael, his wife Tatiana, and their children Raisa and Kirill; her son Adam, his wife Rosemarie, and their children Thomas, Emma, and Elizabeth; her sister Susan Haight and her husband Brian; her sister-in-law Cindy Durfee; her niece Brianna Pompey; her nephew Brett Durfee; and a large number of cousins and extended family. Calling hours are Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1 - 4 PM at CH Landers Funeral Home at 21 Main St, Sidney NY. There will be a private burial.
