Obituary of Debi (Batey) Page

Debi (Batey) Page, 60, of Afton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Debi was born on March 2, 1962 in Sidney, daughter of Ben and Glenda (Russ) Batey. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Afton Central School. For many years, Debi was a dedicated member of the Afton Emergency Squad until an automobile accident sidelined her involvement. A talented photographer, Debi loved taking and sharing nature photos. She also enjoyed raising Labrador retrievers, which resulted in many happy memories and deep friendships. Debi’s greatest joy, however, was found in her family; her daughters and her grandchildren were her world. Genuine, kind, and caring are only a few of the adjectives that best describe her. She was known for sending thoughtful cards to people, being the first to extend birthday wishes or starting prayer chains to lift others up. Her loss will be deeply felt by anyone whose life she touched. Debi will be missed by her daughter, Tracy Page; daughter and son-in-law, Shaina and John Adam Hinman; cherished grandchildren, Kendall and Cole Hinman; her mother, Glenda Batey; her siblings: Shannon, Tim and Glen Batey, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many truly treasured friends. She was predeceased by her father, Ben “Pa” Batey. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 2:00-4:30pm at the River Club of Afton, 1 Maple St. Afton, NY 13730. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Debi’s memory may be made toward a fund being established for her grandchildren's education c/o Tracy Page, 155 Whirlwind Way, Guyton, GA 31312. Arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
