Hope E. Leidy, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022, surrounded by her family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Hope was born June 2, 1928, in Middletown, NY.
On March 22, 1947, she married the love of her life, Roland W. Leidy in Middletown. He predeceased her on September 26, 1988, after 41 years of marriage.
Hope was an assistant cook for Sidney Central School District, retiring in 1989 after 25 years of service. She was an avid reader and was always in search of a new recipe to try.
She is survived by four children: Phyllis and William Hinkley of Chenango Bridge, Ralph Leidy and Linda Dwyer of Rochester, David and Rebecca Leidy of Sidney, and Martin and Katherine Leidy of Rochester; three grandchildren: Andrew Hinkley (Lindsay), Michael Leidy (Sarah Kane) and Lizzy Leidy, as well as two great-grandsons, Andrew "A.J." and Aiden Hinkley. Hope is also survived by her best friend of more than 60 years, Carol Lynch, of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her husband Roland, she was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Doty.
