Ferdinand (Ferdie) Zytka, 86 of Masonville passed away July 10, 2022 at his home He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Ferdie volunteered at Brentwood Legion Ambulance. His many hobbies included Bayshore Tuna Club, bowling, fishing, boating, camping, Cub scouts/Boy scout -Troop 203, hunting, shooting, and raising horses. After his long career at Newsday he retired to Masonville where he found fulfillment enjoying the outdoors while working at Oquaga Creek State Park. Ferdie was predeceased by his wife Carolyn of 62 years and his precious grandson Lance. He is survived by his sons William "Billy", Kurt (Sue) and his loving grandchildren Jake and Grace. Friends may call July 21, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at CH Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am July 22, 2022 at Masonville Cemetery.
