Etta Mae Crawford, 79, of Unadilla, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her home. Etta was born on August 20, 1942 in Franklin, NY, daughter of the late Elmer and Loretta Stone. On May 1, 1959, Etta's life changed when she met the love of her life, George Crawford. They were married later that year on August 22nd, sharing nearly 63 joyous years together. Together they raised their daughters, Tracy and Jo, in Bainbridge before relocating to Unadilla. Etta was a devoted wife and mother, never missing an event for their children. She and George were "Mom and Dad" to all the girls' friends through their childhood and beyond. She loved her family and filled her home with their photos. In addition to collecting teddy bears, Etta was a talented gardener, being blessed with a green thumb. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her cookies and pies, and she loved bluegrass music and prided herself on being a Bluegrass Grandma. Etta will be missed by her beloved husband, George; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tracy Ruff and her husband Dale of Guilford and Jo Foster and her husband William of Otego; grandchildren: Joshua P. Ruff, Kari Ruff-Rivera and her husband Will, and Robin Foster; two great-grandchildren, Arabella Ruff and Brooklynn Ruff-Rivera; her brother, Louis Stone, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Lloyd; sister, Margaret; and her cherished grandson, Aaron "Frosty" Foster. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be directed to the Wells Bridge Fire Department, 114 County Highway 4, Wells Bridge, NY 13859.
