It is with saddened and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Bennett (Gifford). Surrounded by a loving family, she went to be with our Lord May 26, 2022. Born on April 16, 1933 in Walton, NY, Nancy was 89. During her school years, she attended Pines Brook and Walton. She married Lyle Bennett in 1951 and together, established their home in Sidney Center. They raised three children and continued to live there throughout their 70-year marriage. Nancy was a long-time employee of NBT Bank serving roles of teller and loan officer; she retired in April 1989. Nancy was devoted to her family and very active in community and church. She enjoyed many activities including crafts, sewing, games, singing, guitar, camping, golf, and bowling. She and her husband played music with the Rural Rhythm show for over 20 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lyle Bennett; parents Lawrence and Waneta Gifford (Adams), sister Patricia Hodges, Son, Duane Bennett. She is survived by daughters Shirley (Wayne) Foreman and Carolyn (Jeff) Cochran; daughter-in-law, Karen Bennett; brothers Lawrence, Richard (Georgia), Jon (Camilla) Gifford, and sister Deborah (Neil) Bartlett. She was blessed with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held for the family.
