Minnie J. Whispell, 88, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2022. Minnie was born on October 31, 1933 in Walton, NY, daughter of the late Roy and Maria (Fullington) Hawver. She worked for Scintilla in Sidney, and retired from Breakstones in Walton in 1986. Minnie is survived by two daughters: Karen (Dave) Wakeman of Unadilla and Cindy Hawkins (Don Wood) of Unadilla; grandchildren: Jerry (Talia) Hawkins of Bainbridge, Scott (Sarah) Sastra of Unadilla, David (Andora) Wakeman of Portsmouth, Ashley Wakeman of San Diego, Adam Rude of Unadilla, Don (Jenna) Wood of Binghamton, Sean (Ashley) Wood of Afton and Nicole Wood of Sidney; great grandchildren: Dylan Hawkins, Dawson Backus, Alyssa Hawkins, Damon Hawkins, Aidan Hawkins, Skyler Hawkins, Thomas Rude, Jonathan Rude, Emma Rude, Andrew Wakeman, Adeline Wakeman, Benjamin Wakeman, Faith Wakeman, Scott Sanstra, Zoey Rude, Zoey Hornbeck, Rhian Gill, Tyson Wood and Bryson Wood; 4 great, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Ray Whispell, grandson, Thomas Hawkins, granddaughter, Marcey Hawkins Rude, and her four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 1, 2022 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Minnie's name may be made to Helios Care, 297 River St. Service Road, Oneonta, NY 13820.
