Morris R. Hornbeck Sidney Center, NY Morris R. Hornbeck 85 of Sidney Center passed away September 6, 2010 at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta. He was born April 10, 1925, son of the late Randall and Edna (Finch) Hornbeck in Trout Creek. Morris served his country in the United States Navy Armed Guard from 1943 to 1946. In July 2010, Morris flew on an honor flight.He was a founding and lifetime member of the American Legion Guntown Post #1554 in Trout Creek as well a founding member of Cannonsville Farmers Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Morris is survived by: His wife of 63 years, Lillian (Mayo) Hornbeck 5 sons: Morris F. and Helen Hornbeck Roger L. and Peggy Hornbeck Jeffrey L. and Debra Hornbeck David R. Hornbeck Steven W. Hornbeck 3 Sisters-in-law: Lois Phoenix, Martha Mayo and Helen Mayo Grandchildren: Randy Hornbeck, Lindy Monroe, Erin Syed, Roger Hornbeck, II, Connor Hornbeck, Jesse Hornbeck, Jillian Hornbeck, Daran Hornbeck, Ryan Hornbeck, Natalie Hornbeck and Ethan Hornbeck 4 great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins Morris was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd, a sister Elnora and a grandson, Tyler Hornbeck. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Legion Guntown Post #1554 or to the Cannonsville Farmers Rod and Gun Club. Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney.
