Obituary of Hilda Wurtz

Our beloved mother Hilda Wurtz entered into God's Kingdom on January 31, 2022 at age 71. Hilda was surrounded by all her children when she met Jesus. Hilda was born on August 7, 1950 to Mary and Jacob Hofer of Tschetter Colony, South Dakota. Hilda joins her beloved husband, David Wurtz, in Heaven. David and Hilda were married 20 years and had 6 children, Brian, Justin, Darwin, Harold, Marilyn, and Rebecca, before David went to be with Jesus in 1999. Hilda's life and testimony is quite remarkable. David and Hilda were married in 1979. They both received Jesus together in 1997. After David passed, Hilda faced unprecedented challenges as she and her children, with the help of friends and family, were able to start over in New York. Hilda is survived by her sister, Rebecca Decker, her children, Brian (Jaclyn), Justin, Darwin (Hannah), Harold (Marie), Marilyn, and Rebecca (Tim), and grandchildren, Danielle, Kendrie, Liam, Evelyn, Adaya, John Carter, Asher, Amber, Natalie, and David. Hilda was a dedicated mom, raising all six of her children to walk in the Truth. Hilda loved working in her vegetable garden, cooking and baking, and fellowshipping with her friends and family. She was a prayer warrior and a joyful witness to so many. She had a servant's heart and was loved for her straight forward sense of humor. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. We should remind ourselves that while this is the end of her physical life on Earth, it's the beginning of a beautiful eternity with Jesus in Heaven. As the saying goes, "cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice." Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Viewing services will be held on Sunday, February 6 from 3:00-5:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. The funeral will be Monday, February 7 at 10:00am with a meal to follow. Both services will be held at: Grace Christian Fellowship 107 Dingman Hill Road Bainbridge, NY 13733
