Charles Lawrence Beach (“Chuck”), beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather; and longtime Sidney, NY resident, died peacefully at his home on January 12, 2022. He was 82 years old. Chuck was born on September 19, 1939 in Wells Bridge, NY to Helen (Couse) Beach and Henry A. Beach. He graduated from Otego Central School in 1957 and soon after started his career at Scintilla in Sidney. Chuck was a dedicated and well-respected employee and held many positions there over the next 40 plus years until retiring at the end of 2000. Chuck is survived by his two daughters, Bethanne (Steven) Cornell of Suffolk, VA; Robin (Michael) MacDonald of Grants Pass, OR; granddaughter Lisa Cornell of Suffolk, VA; granddaughter Asia (Travis) Fairweather; grandson Aaron MacDonald; great-grandson Barrett Fairweather, all of Grants Pass, OR. Chuck was an avid sports enthusiast and was a long-time member of several local golf and bowling leagues. He loved watching golf and women’s basketball. Chuck loved music, especially classic rock! He loved all trivia and had an amazing memory for statistics; remembering birthdays was one of his specialties! He loved a good steak with a nice glass of Cabernet. And one more thing about Chuck: he never met a stranger! Chuck was a life-long member of the Wells Bridge Baptist Church, and attended Sunday services there throughout his life. In addition, he was a longstanding member of the Sidney Elks Club (#2175) where he enjoyed visiting with his many close friends. Chuck loved a good game of cards and enjoyed playing in the Monday evening Pitch League for many years.
