Russell E. Wilson, recently residing at the Chase Nursing Home in New Berlin, NY, passed away on December 7, 2021, at the age of 94. Russell Wilson was predeceased by his loving wife, Roselind, his parents, Russell C. and Martha Wilson and sister. He enlisted in the Army in his youth and, after his honorable discharge, worked for a construction firm via the Local 807 Labor-Management Union in the New York City area. Russ and Roz lived many happy years in Guilford. At that time, they joined St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sidney, NY where they made fast friends. Later, moving to Sherburne, they became welcomed members of Christ Lutheran Church in Norwich, NY. Russ enjoyed birdwatching, camping, fishing, hunting and played the guitar and harmonica for his personal and Roz's pleasure. He had a pleasant singing voice and sometimes sang for the nurses at Chase. He was a good-natured gentleman with a positive attitude with those around him. His charming character will be missed by those who knew him. Funeral services and military recognition for Russell will be held at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, on Friday, December 10th at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Yaleville Cemetery in Guilford, NY following the service.
