Obituary of Jean Just

Jean Just of Guilford, New York, formerly of West Scranton, died Wednesday, November 17th at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the widow of Dominick “Champ” Just, who died in 2007. At the time of his passing, the couple was married for 51 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Eva Lowe. Educated in Scranton schools, prior to retirement, she was employed by Supermarket Services, and had been previously employed by RCA. Jean loved spending time at Handsome Lake with her husband and family. Surviving are grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and Michael Mehalik; great-grandchildren Christina, Lela, and Tessa Green of Greene, NY; several nieces and nephews; cherished friends of Guilford and her loving St. Peter’s Church family of Bainbridge. She was preceded in death by daughters, Christina Struckus and Bonnie Mehalik; granddaughter, Gina Green; and several siblings. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
