Ruth L. Leete Sidney, NY Ruth Lillian Leete 91 of Sidney passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at AO Fox Hospital in Oneonta. She was born December 30, 1918, daughter of the late Howard and Anna (Pieres) Baumgartner in Dunkirk, NY Ruth graduated from Dunkirk Central School and attended Buffalo Cosmetology School. After graduation she worked in a beauty shop with her cousin. Later she worked for her brother-in-law in JC Penney in Bangor, ME and Norwich, NY. On June 12, 1949, Ruth married Philip Leete in Norwich. From 1950 to 1965, together they constructed and sold four of their own homes. In 1966 they purchased an old farm and opened the Barn Loft where Ruth sold arrangements she created with dried materials. They closed the shop in 1978 and moved to Norwich to care for Phil's parents. Ruth and Phil enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family. Ruth loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews, going to Turning Stone Casino and dining out. She is survived by: Her devoted husband, Philip H. Leete, Sidney Niece - Jeannette Haynes and her husband Gary, Canandaigua Niece -Ruth Mahoney of Quincy, Mass and her children, John, Jr., Kevin, Megan and Heather Great Nephew - Scot Haynes and his wife Valerie, Canandaigua And other great nephews and Nieces She is also predeceased by her sister, Margaret Fuller Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Forest Hill Cemetery in Fredonia, NY at 1:00 PM In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney Emergency Squad River St. Sidney Condolences may be sent online to www.landersfh.com Arrangements by C.H.
