Helen Mary Plankenhorn Sidney, NY Helen Mary Plankenhorn, 84 of Sidney, NY passed away peacefully on March 16, 2009 at the Menorah Park Senior Living Community in Syracuse, NY. Helen was born on October 3, 1924, daughter of the late William and Mary "Marie" (Pulaski) Mossman in New Haven, CT. On January 27, 1945, Helen married Matthew G. Plankenhorn in Sidney. He predeceased her on October 27, 1993. Helen was employed by Bendix Corporation in Sidney until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Sidney, IAM&AW Lodge #1529, and the Women of the Moose. Helen is survived by: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia P. and Eric Neish Chittenango, NY Debra M. and David Fay Skaneateles Falls, NY Grandson, Eric A. Neish, Jr. and his wife Lisa Kirkville, NY Granddaughter, Michelle R. Brown and her husband Sean Liverpool, NY 2 Nephews: Ronald Mossman Binghamton, NY Jeff Mossman Frisco, TX 5 Great-Grandchildren: Steven Parkis (Kirkville, NY), Brandon Neish (Kirkville, NY), Hannah Neish (Kirkville, NY), Ashlyn Brown (Liverpool, NY) and Calen Brown (Liverpool, NY). In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was predeceased by her only son, Matthew G. Plankenhorn, III who passed away in October 1991. Friends are invited to call on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 11:00am-1:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main Street Sidney, NY 13838. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Sacred Heart Church, Liberty Street Sidney. Rev. Fr. Gordon Polenz will officiate. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Sidney Fire Department or to the Sidney Historical Society. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.landersfh.com. Arrangements under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
