Obituary of James B. Blackman

James B. Blackman, 63, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was born in 1958, son of the late Burton and Frances Blackman. Jim enjoyed golfing, car races, camping and listening to old country music. He owned his auto body shop in Guilford for many years. Having recently retired, he was mowing for the Afton Golf Course. Jim is survived by his fiance, Barb Reynolds; his son, Jim Jr.; stepchildren: John and Jessica Reynolds, Christina and Tyler James and Sam Reynolds and Logan Lucchese; grandchildren, Hannah and Sam; step-grandchildren: Allison, Ashlynn, Austin, Zion, Roman, Alexis and Katie; siblings: David and Sandy, Donald and Letitia, Barb and Sawdy, Janice and John, Jean, and Daniel and Crystal, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jim loved helping anyone with anything they needed. He had a heart of gold. He loved his dog Lucy and Barb's puggles, Twitchel Stitches Courtney and Kurt. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory may be made to an animal shelter of one's choice. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 29, 2021 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. A celebration of life will be held at the Sidney American Legion, 22 Union St., following the service.
