Obituary of Barbara J. Humphrey

Barbara McPherson Humphrey passed away July 21, 2021 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY. She was born in May 1931 to the late Fenton and Elma (Cary) McPherson. She graduated from Bainbridge High School.
Barbara married the love of her life, Floyd, in 1952. They raised their 5 children in Bainbridge, NY. Barbara was proud to call herself a Homemaker. She had a passion for sewing, making clothes for herself and her family. In later years, she also made quilts. Known for her cookies and pies, one could always find a cookie in the cookie jar.
She loved to read, work in her flower gardens and watch the creatures in nature outside her window. She and her husband shared over 65 years together before he predeceased her in 2018.
Barbara is survived by her children: Connie (Dann) Moore, Michael (Serena Crossfield) Humphrey, Laurie (Jeanne Adler) Humphrey and Patricia (Rich) Howe; grandchildren: Heather (Lynn) Brooker, Barrett Moore, Cassandra Moore, Kaitlyn (Kevin Krisiak) Howe, Steven Howe; great-grandchildren: Ashley Brooker, Wyatt Brooker and Maximus Krisiak; brother, Nelson (Butch) MacPherson; sister-in-law, Mia MacPherson and many loved nephews and nieces.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Humphrey; son, David Humphrey; brothers: Charles and his wife Shirley McPherson, Fenton (Scotty) and his wife Betty McPherson and Richard MacPherson; sister, Janice and her husband Socrates Nellis and sister-in-law, Michele MacPherson.
Graveside services for Barb and Floyd will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in her name can be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Chenango County, 33-39 Court St. Norwich, NY 13815.
