Obituary of Russell Arnold Hall

Russell Arnold Hall, 83, of Gardiner, New York, passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2021, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Born August 30, 1937, in Sidney, New York he was the son of the late Kenneth and Matilda (Zurbreugg) Hall. On June 29, 1963, Russell married the love of his life, Joan Ann Leone, in Patchogue, New York. They enjoyed over 38 happy years together, residing in Smithtown, New York, before her passing in 2001. Russell worked as a Sales Rep Manager for United Airlines in New York City, New York until his retirement in 2000. Survivors include his daughter and son (-in-law), Sherri Hall and her husband, Ken Bausert of Gardiner, NY; his beloved grandson, Baxter Bausert-Hall; his nephews, Marc Hall of St. Petersburg, FL, and Trevor Hall of St. Petersburg, FL; and his niece, Heather Lasher of Orlando, FL. Those who had the pleasure to know him, knew of his zest for life! Good food, drink, family, friends, and conversation brought him joy. Feisty with a warm and kind heart. As he would say,” I did pretty well for a Sidney boy who wasn’t supposed to live past 20.” Forever grateful for my dad, Russell, my best friend, mentor and role-model.
