Barbara J. Wilson, 61 of Bainbridge, passed away Monday afternoon, August 2, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Barbara was born on August 19, 1948, daughter of John J. and Hannah (Ackeret) Scanlon in Sidney. Barbara graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1967. She was a long time employee of Amphenol Corporation in Sidney. On March 24, 1984, Barb married Charles "Ben" Wilson in Sidney. He predeceased her on March 11, 1998. Barb was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sidney where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed fine dining, as well as traveling, and loved gospel music, especially Jack Harris.

Brother and sister-in-law: David and Bonnie Scanlon of Sidney

Aunt, Betty Ackeret of Sidney

Nieces, Amy and Angela

Nephews, Brian and Brad

Her cat, Tuffy, and her dog, Missy

Dear friends: Ed, Mary Ann, Joyce, Gary and Carol

As well as several great nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband, Barb was predeceased by her father, John Scanlon, Jr. and her son Tony Scanlon.

Friends are invited to call on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 11:00am-1:00pm at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with Rev. Patricia Robinson, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Sidney, officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barb's name may be directed to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St., Sidney, NY 13838.
