Michael A. Schermerhorn, 31, born July 11, 1989, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2021.
He is survived by: his grandparents: Charles and Barbara Schermerhorn of S.C. and Barbara Johnson of Unadilla; mother, Sarah and Brian Applegate of Unadilla; stepmother, Lisa Pritchard of Sidney; daughter, Amelia Andreas of Masonville; brother, Anthony and Ashley Botte of Deposit; sisters: Ashley Schermerhorn of Norwich, Kona Carman of Walton and Elizabeth (Nisa) Schermerhorn of East Meredith; uncles: Roger, James and Mark Schermerhorn of S.C., Ronald McMullen of Maryland, NY and John and Denise Johnson of Berlin, MD; aunts: Jamie Ballard of Cortland, Donna DeCarr of Davenport, Brenda and Jim Birdsall of Otego and Georgia and Joe Gonzalez of Silver Springs, FL; nephews: Aiden Hooven of Cranberry, NY, Jarad Backus Jr. of Norwich, Kyler Backus of Norwich, Anthony Botte III of Masonville and Colin Botte of Deposit; nieces: Trinity Backus of Norman, NY, Zoe Botte of Masonville, Belladonna and Caterina Weishar of Deposit, Cailet and Adalyn Ryan of Walton; girlfriend and soulmate, Kimberly Stosko of Sidney; several cousins and many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his father, David Schermerhorn.
Friends may call from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Memorial services will begin at 2:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. Paul Winkelman officiating.
