Obituary of Richard Allen Whittaker

Richard Allen Whittaker Otego—Richard Allen Whittaker, 57, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1963 in Walton, NY, son of Richard (Dick) Daniels and Marie Cuozzo Whittaker. Rich graduated from Sidney High School with the Class of 1981 and went on to SUNY Cobleskill where he studied horticulture and landscaping. He owned and operated Catskill Mountain Enterprises Landscaping before entering the field of law enforcement. He worked as a police officer for Bainbridge and Afton Police Departments and Chenango County Sheriffs, retiring from SUNY Morrisville University Police. Rich was a past member of Borden Hose Co. in Mt. Upton and the Guilford Fire Dept./Emergency Squad. He is survived by: two sons, Cody and Ryan Whittaker, both of Cobleskill; mother, Marie Cuozzo of Florida; brother, Jason Whittaker of Florida; sisters, Kellie Ives of Guilford and Tylena Daniels of Coventry, as well as several other close relatives. He was predeceased by David James, who was like a father to him, and his father, Dick Daniels. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at C.H.
