Milton L. Young, Sr. Sidney, NY Milton L. Young, Sr. 85 of Sidney passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 7, 1923 son of the late Leslie and Bernice (Simpson) Young in Sidney. Milt served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1940 to 1944 and married Vivian Harnen on January 10, 1970 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a fireman for the city of Poughkeepsie until he retired in 1981. Milt was also a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church. He is survived by: Wife - Vivian Young, Sidney Son and Daughter-in-law - Milton Lee and Tracy Young, Sidney Daughters and sons-in-law - Maryjoy and David Morrison, Tennessee Kimberly and Thomas Countant, Hyde Park, NY Jacqueline and Edward Merritt, Hyde Park, NY Lynette Sweet, Sidney 8 Grandchildren and 6 great -grandchildren Milt was also predeceased by daughter Maryann Young and his Brother Robert Young. Friends may call Monday, March 16, 2009 from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney, NY. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Barbara Green, pastor of the Sidney United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838 or the Sidney United Methodist Church Liberty St. Sidney, NY 13838.
