Obituary of Ryan James Hayes

Ryan (Buzz) James Hayes, 25, of Mount Upton, NY, unexpectedly passed away on April 20, 2020 at his home. Ryan was born in Norwich, NY to James and Tonja Hayes on October 10, 1994. He went to high school at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton. He later worked at Upstate Construction, as well as traveled installing solar units for Solar City. He enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, golfing, racing, woodworking, bon fires, loud music and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and many great friends. Ryan will be missed by: his father, James Hayes; his mother, Tonja Hayes (TJ Turner); his sisters: Ashleigh (Coty) Bishop and Megan Hayes; his nieces, Kadyn and Madisyn Bishop; his grandmother, Jewell Hayes; uncles, Harry (Skip) (Hayley) French III, Tim French and Jack (Sue) Hayes; aunt, Jonie Hayes; several cousins, and his canine companion that meant the world to him, Vista Mae. He was predeceased by his grandfather, John Hayes; grandfather, Harry French Jr. and grandmother Janice French. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of Ryan's great friends that kept him busy and kept his spirits up, especially Nicholas Sebeck who was by his side through all of his many health challenges, also to the special & caring staff at Oneonta Specialty Services Dialysis Center. A celebration of life (or in Ryan's own words, Big *ss Party) will be held at a later date. C.H. Landers Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Final resting place will be Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Upton, NY.
