Roy Edward Allen was born on October 14, 1954 in Camden N.J. to Kenneth Allen Sr.& Alice Allen. He was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Roy received his education in the Philadelphia Public School system; He graduated from University City High School in 1974.
Roy entered the United States Army on January 2, 1975 he was honorably discharged from Active Duty on December 2, 1977 Specialist Fourth Class. Roy also served 20 years in the Army Reserves and retired an E-6.
He worked for the city of Philadelphia Sanitation Department for several years then transferring to the Philadelphia Airport Maintenance Department. He was a skilled electrician and he enjoyed working in his field
On April 4, 2020 God called Roy home and told him it was time to be with him in his house of glory. He was a born again christian and accepted Christ into his life. From this point on his life had been changed for the better for him, as well as his family. He attended church every Sunday and was a member of the Soul Touchers Choir which he loved very much.
Left with his precious memories to cherish is his son Gregory Allen; Seventeen Grandchildren; Two sisters Althea G. Howell, Carmelita F. Allen; One brother Anthony L. Allen; Three brothers proceeded him in death, Kenneth G. Allen Jr.; Christopher W. Allen and Andrew Benson. Four nephews Jendell Howell; Christopher Allen, Jr., Michael Allen and Kenneth Allen; Three nieces Diander Grant; Simone Howell and Mercedes Allen-Pelson; One brother-in law Arthur Howell and ex wife Carole Foster-Allen and two step-children Earl Foster and Joya Foster as well as a host of Great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and Frannie Jones who was a very good friend and caretaker.
