Dawn Marie Foster, 80, formerly of Masonville, passed away peacefully from an extended illness on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin. Dawn was the daughter of the late Burton J. and Bertha (Ruff) Benedict born on October 24, 1939 in Johnson City. Dawn was raised in Bainbridge, and graduated from Bainbridge-Guilford High School in 1959. Dawn married Carl Foster on December 25, 1966, together they raised their family in Masonville. Dawn was a loving, and caring wife, and mother. She was a strong, and determined person who had a hopeful, and optimistic outlook on life. Dawn's greatest joys were her family, and serving God. Dawn loved walking, and enjoyed the outdoors including bird watching, and gardening. Dawn also enjoyed spending time with her family. Dawn is survived by daughters Laura Benkovitz of Masonville, Elizabeth (Dennis) Ciborowski of Kirkwood, granddaughters Amanda Benkovitz, Ava Ciborowski, and Natalia Ciborowski, brother Douglas Benedict of Guilford, sister in-law Kathleen (Benedict) Knudsen, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dawn was predeceased in death by her husband Carl, brothers and sisters Burton J. Benedict, Jr., David Benedict, Ruth Northup, Dale Price, Melody Adams, Rosemary Benedict, Doreen Benedict, and Nancy Benedict. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Dawn's memory may be made to Hospice Of Chenango County at 21 Hayes St. Norwich, NY 13815, or The Alzheimer's Association.
