Obituary of Nancy L. Benedict

Nancy Lee Benedict, 72, of Bainbridge, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 1st, at A. O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, NY. Nancy was born in Cooperstown, NY to Archie H. and Doris (Brewer) Chapman on December 26, 1947. She grew up in Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge-Guilford Central School in 1967. She was a loving Mother and Wife of 52 years. She was a stay at home mom who enjoyed visiting her neighbors, and spending time with family. Nancy also enjoyed shopping at craft fairs and local shops, and loved nature, especially watching the birds and bunnies and tending her flowers. Nancy loved the Lord and faithfully attended West Bainbridge Baptist Church and later the 1st Baptist Church of Sidney, NY where she volunteered for many years in the children's programs. Nancy is survived by her husband, Douglas J. Benedict, her daughters Suzanne Hahn (Rich Male), and Diane (Mark) Allegretti, sister Sandra (Jim) Price, and brother Dan Chapman (Betty Craft); her grandchildren James, Benjamin, and Ashley Allegretti, Kylie Hahn and Jadyn Male, goddaughter and niece Doddy (Will) Crisell, and several brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Doris and Archie, her brother Louis Chapman and niece Brandie Irons. Calling hours will be held at the First Baptist Church of Sidney, NY on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 12 pm with services to follow at 2 pm, Elder Niko Stoian officiating. Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery in Unadilla, NY at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney.
