Helen L. Caffee, 85, of Bainbridge, passed away suddenly at her home on Jan. 16, 2020. She was born May 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Leonard and Emily (Clapper) Wood. She graduated from Milford High School in 1952 and then attended Albany Business College. She married the late Richard Caffee in 1957 and they were together until his passing in 1996. She worked at the former Homer Folks TB Hospital in Oneonta during the 1950's and worked at Bendix/Amphenol in Sidney from 1969 until 1989. She then worked for Chenango County Mental Health Services until her retirement in 2000. Helen loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her favorite pastimes were flower gardening, bowling, yoga classes, traveling, and spending time with her dear friends and family. Helen was predeceased by her brother DeForest Wood. She is survived by her sons Brian Caffee of Farmington, NY and Robert (Jane) Caffee of Bainbridge as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to call from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, January 20, 2020 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 21st at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in the spring in Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton. Helen was a lifelong animal lover, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 NY Route 28 in Cooperstown.
