Obituary of Gerald Northup

Gerald 'Jerry' Northup Jerry was born in the Brooklyn Section of Sidney in 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. George Northup, the youngest of ten children. He was a graduate of Sidney Central School, Class of 1947. In 1948, he married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Metia Walthers. They had 52 wonderful years of marriage together. Metia predeceased him in 2000. He was also predeceased by four brothers: Charlie, Bill, Earl and Jack; and five sisters: Mrs. Jack Finch, Mrs. Frances Freeman, Mrs. Edward Van Loan, Mrs. Grant Reese and Mrs. Clyde Stevens. Jerry retired from Amphenol and served in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by a dear friend and companion, Estella Moore, who he loved dearly, as well as his pup Maudy. Also surviving are a niece, Jacklyn Dennis and her husband, Gary; and a nephew, Todd Barnhart and his wife, Wanda. In accordance with Jerry's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla, will be private at a later date.
