Kenneth William VerValin, 91 of Unadilla passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at his home. He was born January 6, 1923 in Oneonta to the late Arthur and Mary (Larkin) VerValin. Ken attended Unadilla Central School and was a Navy Veteran, enlisting at the age of 17. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Sidney Elks Lodge and a founding father of the Unadilla Rod and Gun Club. Ken worked for Overhead Doors for 28 years before going into business on his own until his retirement in 2016. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 70 years, Jayne (Grow) VerValin, His brothers, Arthur, Morris and Gerald as well as his sisters Eleanor and Dorothy. He is survived by his sister, Mary Jeanette Crandall of Afton and his Nephew, Patrick VerValin with whom he spent a lot of enjoyable time. As well as several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Ken enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and spending many hours at the Rod and Gun Club with his friends. Ken was always there to lend a helping hand and developed many lasting friendships over the years. His kind and gentle nature will long be remembered by family and friends. Friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Unadilla Rod and Gun Club on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity.
