James Allison Browning, 69, of Mt. Upton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Wilson Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born on September 6, 1949, son of the late Reginald and Florence (Maynard) Browning in Sidney.

Jim married Donna Gaughan on May 26, 1973. She predeceased him on October 9, 2015.

He began his career as a metrologist in 1978, completing the apprentice program at Scintilla. He retired from Amphenol after 40 years of service. Jim was a dedicated member of Borden Hose Co. of Mt. Upton and Rockdale for over 30 years. He was a car enthusiast and loved spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by: two daughters: Germaine and Kevin Rodda of Georgetown and Gwendolyn and Butch Faulkner of Mt. Upton; four grandchildren: Alexandria, Timothy and Matthew Grow and Justin Rodda; sister, Susan Barnes of Unadilla; his companion, Jayne Phillips; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life on Saturday August 31, 2019, beginning at 1:00pm, at Borden Hose Co. 1698 State Route 8, Mt. Upton, NY 13809.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be directed to Borden Hose Co., 1698 State Route 8, Mt. Upton, NY 13809, or to the Northeast Classic Car Museum, 24 Rexford St. Norwich, NY 13815.
